Ownership makes a boundary real

An agentic workflow is not governed because it has a polished interface. The AI Agent Systems source requires task boundaries, prompts, review gates, and maintenance, which means a person must own the task definition and the consequences of important outputs.

The owner decides what the workflow is allowed to do, which sources it can rely on, what it must not decide, and when a result requires human review.

Put the owner inside the workflow

Design the route so the owner receives the right context at the review point: the input, source material, draft or classification, confidence or exception signal, and the available next actions. A handoff without context only moves the ambiguity.

For a first workflow, a human can approve a prepared response, resolve a missing-source case, or choose the next routing action. The role is operational, not ceremonial.

Use ownership to improve the system

Corrections from the owner identify weak source material, unclear prompts, poor task boundaries, or missing exception routes. Store the reason for a correction so the team can make a governed update.

This is a more credible path to advanced agentic capability than promising a system that operates without accountable review.
